By EMGDF

On February 21, 2016 the Essie Mae Good Deeds Foundation introduced their organization to the community on Fox 2 Detroit News Live, they wanted to inform Michigan families of their new nonprofit organization and the annual kick-off event they would be hosting at the Northwest Activity center in Detroit, where they sponsored over 600 children with school supplies. Furthermore, with March being Science month they also, gave the children science boards along with other essential items to prepare their science projects in the upcoming month. That kickoff event brought out educators as well as people in the community to provide them with much needed educational supplies for their children.

In addition to providing school supplies to hundreds of kids that participated in the event that day, they also donated and delivered all left-over items from the event to Cots homeless shelter, who provides housing to under privileged children and families. On the day of the Essie Mae Good Deeds Foundation kick-off event, Cots was housing 100 homeless children and families. The Foundations’ passion is to help underprivileged children of Michigan with educational tools to structure their academic learning potential. “Community involvement have always been an important part of my life”, said CEO and Founder Gail Lawson.

Our School Wings Tools Program: Sponsors a Michigan School every year in February, to provide underprivileged children with learning tools to carry out their academic tasks in a classroom setting.

LITERACY SKILLS WILL ROAD MAP THEIR FUTURE FOR BECOMING PRODUTIVE IN TODAY’S SOCIETY.

EMGDF fundraiser model is to sponsor Michigan Educational Institutions with learning materials to students who are apart of financially challenged families that cannot provide essential academic tools during the school year, which can derail  a child’s learning potential to acquire literacy skills that is conducive to their educational future.
